A swimming cap, swim cap or bathing cap, is a tightly fitted, skin-tight garment, normally crafted from silicone, latex or lycra, worn on the head by means of leisure and aggressive swimmers.
Caps are worn for diverse reasons: swim caps are every so often worn to hold hair out of the swimmer's face, reduce drag, protect hair from chlorine or sun damage, preserve hair dryer, maintain the top warmer, or (sometimes in aggregate with earplugs) to maintain water out of the ears. Caps also can be worn to perceive skill level in swimming lessons.
