MMDI is a Nonprofit corporation which become created in February 2010. The Chief executive officer of pageant is Bonita Ann Leek, and the language within the contest is International Sign Language.

In 2005, Leek based the Miss Deaf USA (MDU) contest in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the early 2005, she became told about the Miss Deaf World competition, which turned into held in Prague, the Czech Republic.
