History of Miss International

The pageant become created in Long Beach, California, United States in 1960 after the departure of the Miss Universe festival to Miami Beach. Hosted in Long Beach until 1967, the festival moved to Japan from 1968 to 1970, being hosted each year within the identical town as the Expo '70.
