Saddlebags are luggage which might be attached to saddles.

In horse riding, saddlebags take a seat in diverse positions, on the back, aspect, or front of the saddle. Most connect to the saddle through straps and ties. They can be made from diverse substances. Although leather-based became the conventional fabric, it is heavier and calls for greater preservation than many present day versions. There are several types: Pommel baggage (which take a seat in the front of the saddle), traditional paired saddlebags (which lie at the hips of the horse, on both facet of the cantle), and assorted smaller luggage together with a cantle bag (a small tube-like bag that sits simply behind the saddle), or a single small saddle bag that can be carried at the off-side (proper hand side) of an English saddle.
