Although the term armlet can be technically comparable, it is taken to mean an item that sits at the higher shoulder: an arm ring. The starting place of the time period 'bracelet' is from the Greek brachile that means 'of the arm', thru the Old French bracel. A bracelet is also a small brace or bracer (an arm-guard used by archers).
