Miss America commenced as a suit opposition between 8 contestants in Atlantic City, New Jersey in 1921 as National Beauty Pageant Tournament, bikinis have been dropped from its list of suitable swimming gear in 1947. After the bikini is delivered in Paris in 1946, Miss America contestants are issued same -piece swimsuits that definitely show their midriff.
