  • Within 24 hours of being challenged, members need to record a video of themselves in continuous pictures. First, they are to announce their acceptance of the task, accompanied by means of pouring ice right into a bucket of water. Then, the bucket is to be lifted and poured over the participant's head. Then the participant can nominate a minimum of 3 different people to participate within the undertaking.
  • Whether human beings choose to donate, perform the assignment, or do each varies.
  • In one version of the venture, the participant was predicted to donate $10 in the event that they poured the ice water over their head or donate $100 if they did no longer. In every other version, dumping the ice water over the player's head became carried out in lieu of any donation, which caused a few criticisms of the challenge being a form of "slacktivism". Many contributors donated $100 further to doing the undertaking.
